Our mission at Honey Le Mar is to empower individuals and communities in East Africa to achieve economic stability and improve their quality of life through beekeeping. We provide beekeeping equipment and training to help people start and maintain successful beekeeping businesses, which in turn creates sustainable sources of income and promotes environmental conservation. By providing individuals with the tools to sustain their own bee hives, we give them a reliable source of income through their production of honey. Our goal is to create stronger community values around agriculture and sustainability by donating the necessary equipment to sustain beehives. By working with local partners and leveraging their expertise, we strive to support the development of thriving beekeeping communities in East Africa, where individuals can earn a livable income and build brighter futures for themselves and their families.
In 2011, Miriam Syoum embarked on a journey of beekeeping with her father, a beloved hobby that she had shared with him since the age of five. From an early age, Miriam realized the significance of bees and the magic of honey production. As she grew older, she recognized the importance of beekeeping and its potential to impact the world. By the time she turned 13, Miriam was already selling her own honey, which inspired her to explore ways of using her proceeds to give back to communities through bees. This led her to create Honey Le Mar, a project with a mission to make a positive difference through beekeeping.
