Mr. Benson Karanja desired to engage in beekeeping in order to generate a viable income by selling honey. He even went to the extent of hollowing out a tree and attempting to produce honey from wild bees.
Mr. Karanja aspired to acquire the knowledge and skills of beekeeping to sustain himself and his family. Through our organization's provision of beekeeping equipment and training, Mr. Karanja successfully completed his first harvest and plans to establish his own small business in the future, supporting himself and his family financially.
Mr. Karanja serves as the inaugural beneficiary among numerous individuals our organization aims to sponsor and assist. Our goal is to introduce bees to more communities and educate a greater number of people on the art of modern beekeeping.
Ms. Rechael Wanjiru, a cancer survivor and small-scale farmer, had a desire to pursue beekeeping but lacked the means to buy the required equipment. Additionally, she was intrigued by the medicinal benefits she believed could be derived from honey and other bee products like propolis for her recovery.
Fortunately, due to the sponsorship from Honey Le Mar, Ms. Wanjiru now has a source of income from her honey production to cover her medical expenses. Moreover, beekeeping has become a low-maintenance avenue for generating income for her.
Mr. Paul Kaganjo, a 70-year-old farmer, engages in subsistence small-scale tea farming and various other agricultural practices. He has dependents, including children and over 30 grandchildren, whom he is responsible for supporting. Thanks to the equipment and training he received through donations, Mr. Kaganjo can now generate income to provide additional assistance to his family.
Mr. Martin Karega has been a volunteer at grassroots environment projects and has participated in projects such as the planting of bamboo near river banks in his community. His dedication to helping his community and the environment is impressive and important. With the donated equipment we hope to train Mr. Karega so that he can help monitoring and following up on beneficiaries in order to ensure that the donations are sustainable and make a difference on the beneficiaries lives.
